All other students
  • All other students will need to apply (Visiting Students).
  • All would-be Summer School registrants receive a registration appointment date and time: this is the date and time after which you are free to register. Registration priorities are assigned to current students first, and then to visiting students. Applicants will be notified regarding the success of their application and the time and date assigned for registration.

Summer Credit hours

Undergraduate students

  • Undergraduate students may take up to 14 credit hours over the summer term.
  • Undergraduate students are not permitted to take more than 7 credits in a summer half-term (i.e., First Half Term or Second Half Term).

You may request to register for more than 14 hours, or 7 hours in a half-term, by submitting a petition via the Academic Petition tool in Banner Self-Service. Please use the Registration Hour Overload petition type. Please see the University Policy for course load requirements.

Graduate students

  • Graduate students may take up to 9 credit hours over the summer term.
  • Graduate students are not permitted to take more than 6 credits in a summer half-term (i.e., First Half Term or Second Half Term).

You may request to register for more than 9 hours, or 6 hours in a half-term, by submitting a petition via the Academic Petition tool in Banner Self-Service. Please use the Course Overload petition type. Please see the Graduate School Academic Petition guidelines for more information.
